Living alone is not that bad! I’ve been living alone for over a decade, and trust me, I’ve been living my BEST life. I feel stimulated and invigorated. Even though there were hard situations I had to figure out all by myself, I successfully did it and felt stronger than ever. I value my privacy, I love my home and I cherish independence. I spent all my life working and stressing out over little things. Retirement and living alone allowed me to rediscover myself and my power and I am so happy about that.

I miss my husband and my family, they were amazing people who had to leave this world too soon. But, I know that there is a reason why I stayed. Maybe I had to learn how to live and be happy for real. And I am proudly saying that now I consider myself fully cheerful. It feels like I just accomplished my life’s biggest mission.

1. LifeFone Medical Alert Systems

If your kids and grandkids live far away, like mine do, it will be very good for them to know you’re safe. So, having easy access to emergency services is a must. In my life, I had some traumatic experiences when nobody was near me. I couldn’t ask anyone for help. Please take my mistakes as a lesson for yourself and purchase a LifeFone Medical Alert System. You’ll feel much better and your loved ones will be also happy to know that you are completely fine and taken care of.

Whether you want protection at home or outside your home, LifeFone is the best option. It has a fall detector and a GPS. So, trust me, you’ll be just fine! LifeFone is one of the best-selling and most affordable providers in the medical alert industry. It’s very easy to use and the best part is that it comes with a 30-day free trial and has free cancelation.

2. Grab bars

Nothing is more useful than grab bars! Walking inside your home should be easily done and is probably the first step to feeling safe. Installing grab bars in the bathroom, near the toilet, and the shower is a must when you are living alone. My routines became significantly easier since I installed grab bars all over my house. Basically, I cannot fall anymore. So, I totally recommend them, especially in the more slippery areas.

There are two types of grab bars available on Amazon. One that you can travel with and one that can be installed. Both of them are great, you just have to think about your needs before purchasing. If you want my opinion, I would say that the fixed bars are much safer inside the house. But the other type is very useful if you travel. If you never bought grab bars before, maybe you should start with the most affordable option, to see if you like them or not.

I have been re-purchasing Gorilla Grip Bath Mat for a lot of time and is by far one of the best items a senior living alone could have. As I already said, the most slippery areas are also the most dangerous ones. So, make sure to take care of yourself, especially when you are in the bathroom.

It has oversized buttons, volume control, and an easy-to-read keypad. You should definitely consider purchasing it!

6. Shower Chair

Who doesn’t love to spend some time in the shower? It’s one of my favorite activities. I can sit, shower and relax, without risking falling. Search for a medical shower chair!
