#6 Nature walks
If you are taking them out on a walk, make sure that it is purposeful. Help them recognize certain sounds, like different birds, foliage, insects, and even small animals at the nearby park. Bring with you some nuts for squirrels or grapes for the ducks in the pond (never bread). You can also make these weekend walks about collecting some treasures, be they flowers, leaves, pinecones, or rocks.
It will make these walks special and help the kids remember their walks fondly. What’s more, you can use some of the things you gather as craft supplies later, so it’s a win-win situation! You can also press the flowers and leaves in a special book for them to have as a memory!
