Oswego

Oswego is one of the most vibrant and interesting places in upstate New York. At some point, the city went through a resurgence in the downtown area, which brought back the eagerness of its residents to get out and socialize.

Oswego has everything, from local shops to eateries and scenic views, from the Oswego River to Lake Ontario. Oswego is probably the oldest freshwater port in North America, but it’s also home to one of the best marinas, so there’s always going to be a place to get out on the water. The percentage of the population who lives here and is over 65 is a bit smaller, at only 17%.

Johnson City

The well-known Johnson City is very close to Binghamton and a part of the Triple Cities. Residents can easily take advantage of the five major parks that offer all kinds of activities, from playgrounds to sports facilities.

This also includes the well-known “Crown Jewel” of the carousel, which is one of the biggest remaining carousels in the whole country (it has four rows of 72 horses). Lots of retirees decided to move here, as the percentage of the population over 65 is 18.7%.
