If you’re a retiree, this article is for you!
Whether you couldn’t wait for the sweet day when you said goodbye to the workforce and embraced your new life as a retiree, or you were scared when this moment came and you felt like you didn’t have a purpose anymore, I have to be honest with you and tell you that I felt both of these things.
They came to me one after another, and it took me a couple of months to get used to my new situation. I didn’t know if I was supposed to be happy that I don’t have to wake up early and go to work or if I should be sad that I was all by myself each day.
However, when I realized that I was putting a lot of pressure on myself, I decided that it was time to take a step back and put some order into my thoughts.
One thing that helps me relax and clear my mind is cleaning. I feel like I’m moving my body and decluttering my mind, my home, and my life at the same time. So that’s what I did: I purged my closet; I turned the attic upside down because it was full of unnecessary items; and once I was done, I felt a lot better and started blogging as a freelancer.
