2. Cleveland, Ohio

According to the ranking made by U.S. News & World Report in 2021, Cleveland has a well-deserved place in the top 100 best cities in the United States to retire. And this is not surprising at all. The city of Cleaveland has some of the best ratings for housing affordability, health care, and the happiness of its citizens.

This city has top-notch health care that you can easily access for modest prices. This is probably extremely convenient for those over 65 who want to not stress a lot about this. The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center are just two of the best hospitals you can find here.

Now, if we look at the entire state of Ohio, we can notice that it has lower costs of living than the national average. Also, there are no taxes on Social Security here. The housing costs are pretty low. If you’ve already paid off your house, you will need $478 per month; if you are renting a place to stay, you will spend $652 per month; and if you need to pay a mortgage, be ready to pay $1,278 per month.

All in all, because of the high quality of life and the low cost of living, Cleveland, Ohio, is a good option for anyone who wants to retire and live in a big city.
