Nobody Ever Speaks Up
Perhaps you haven’t noticed these exact scenarios in your workplace, but have you noticed that all your coworkers are quiet? Do you know they have good ideas they’ve shared privately earlier, yet when the time comes to bring them up during a meeting they don’t speak up?
That’s a sign of fear, right there, and there’s something very wrong about an office where employees are afraid. This could be very harmful in a number of ways, as it’s an indicator that not everybody’s ideas are heard.
Naturally, feeling like you can’t speak up will lower your motivation and performance. In this case what you can do is try speaking up instead, slowly but surely. Try to gauge why your boss is acting this way while encouraging others to follow your lead.
