Exceptions
There are numerous cases where these default payment schedules aren’t met or respected, as Social Security benefits are paid at a completely different time. These are the exceptions:
- Payment to relatives or spouses who received benefits that are based on someone else’s work record will be fully paid on the same day as the primary beneficiary;
- Benefits to individuals who also get SSI because of a disability, their age, or blindness are also going to be paid on the first day of every month;
- Individuals whose payment date is on a federal holiday or a weekend will be fully paid on the weekday prior.
