Social Security retirement, disability, and survivor benefits should be distributed on any of the three Wednesdays of each month, especially for beneficiaries who started receiving benefits after May 1997. When a beneficiary is bound to receive his or her payments depends a lot on their birth date.

  • If you were born between January 1 and October 10, you are bound to receive your Social Security payments on the second Wednesday of each month.
  • However, if you were born between the 11th and the 20th, you should expect to receive your Social Security payments on the third Wednesday of every month.
  • If you were born between the 21st and the 31st, you would receive your payment on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

Also, SSI benefit payments seem to follow a completely different payment schedule. To be more specific, SSI benefits are distributed on the first day of each month. If the first day of the month falls on the weekend, then they pay the benefits on the last Friday of the prior month.

For this year, there won’t be any payments in April, July, or October, as beneficiaries are bound to receive their payments at the beginning and end of March, June, and September.
