We’re starting the list with this lovely village of only around 8,500 residents. Stillwater is a growing community with friendly neighborhoods, an excellent educational institution, numerous historical sites, parks, trains, and, of course, Brown’s Beach.
Charming and eclectic, this is one of the safest small towns in New York State, with a property crime rate of 2.2 and a violent crime rate of only 0.1. These figures are pretty hard to beat!
Nestled north of Albany on the Hudson River, this town is home to a charming, old Main Street as well as the Stillwater Blockhouse, a historical building located right on the Hudson. Romantics and history buffs alike will definitely want to live in Stillwater!
