4. Rye
If you’re unfamiliar with Rye, then you should become acquainted with this lovely little Westchester County town. In fact, this place may have the richest history of any other town in Westchester County.
The small city, perched on the coast of the Long Island Sound, started as a secluded farming community, then evolved into a picturesque resort town. Today, lots of in-the-know New York City residents still come to Rye for summer day trips, and there are also a decent number of daily commuters.
What’s even better is that this small town boasts a violent crime rate of 0.1, which basically means there are almost no incidents of this kind.
