#5 Athletic Shoes

Yes, it sounds silly. But think about it this way: staying active should be an important part of your retirement life, and making a slightly big purchase such as athletic sneakers and shoes before you retire means you will be prepared to do it at any moment.

Not only should you start being active before retirement (from a health perspective), but having a good pair of shoes is crucial, especially after you have reached retirement age. And since this purchase is going to cost you around $100 to $200 for a good pair, you should do it before you retire. They are durable, so you will be able to use them for a long time, and you will always be prepared to stay active, which is important for both physical health and mental health!

And when it comes to being sure you understand your taxes in retirement, make sure you read on the topic ahead of time!
