3. Gift Bags, Boxes and Wrapping Paper
We think it’s ludicrous to spend two to three times more for gift bags and wrapping paper than you would at a dollar store. These are just items that’ll go straight to the trash after your loved one has finished opening all their presents!
Sure, the more expensive variety may be extra thick, but we all know the recipient is far more interested in what’s inside than what’s on the outside.
Additionally, you could buy plain wrapping paper and write messages on it instead of relying on overdone designs.
4. Notebooks
Save on paper and save the environment while you’re at it by buying notebooks from the dollar store. For on-hand grocery lists, to-do lists and note taking you don’t need a fancy agenda and you definitely don’t need anything expensive.
The same goes for kids. If they like doodling (and which kids don’t?) or journaling, you can get some dollar store notebooks that they can decorate the covers as they like. Plus, it’ll be fun to make them their own, especially if you spend some time together on this activity.
