5. Demonstrate Your Accomplishments and Added Value
When talking about your future plans don’t just stick to your goals. Sure, it’s nice to know that you’ve got a clear picture of what you want to accomplish, but your bosses need more than just hopes and dreams.
Have you gotten positive feedback from your colleagues? Point it out, give specific examples. Did you help a customer find what they needed, did you bring in or save other customers? These are all things your boss might not immediately see if they are tasked with projects of their own.
Then there’s the revenue side of things. If your work has lead to an increase, point out the estimates and relay what you’ve done so that you can apply the same principles in the future.
If you can prove that you’ve added value to your team or department then do so when you have the chance.
