5. Affordable housing

We’re not done with all of these amazing reasons to move to Texas in your golden years. One of the main things that attracts retirees like honey attracts bees is the fact that Texas offers affordable housing options.

Many seniors decide to pack their bags and head down to Texas because they’re happy knowing that they can live in a fabulous place they have no problem paying for while still enjoying living on a fixed income.

A 2-bedroom apartment in Houston will cost you less than $1,300 a month; in San Antonio, you’ll pay no more than $1,300; in Dallas, you’ll pay $1,450 for the same thing; and the most expensive one is in Austin, where you’ll have to pay a bit less than $1,800 for a 2-bedroom apartment.

Are these strong reasons to move to Texas? Let us know in the comments!
