6. Old documents

I am guilty of that too. When I became a retiree, I realized that many of my drawers were filled with unnecessary things, and every time I was looking for something, I was getting angry because I couldn’t remember where I stored everything.

If you’re the same as I am, I will only tell you this: CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! You’re probably not going to need your 1970s tax return files anytime soon. Just take a look at all those files you have and get rid of those that no longer serve you any purpose.

Unimportant and old files can add up quickly, so if you don’t want your home to look like a war zone, it’s probably for the best to purge those you don’t need. Besides that, too much paperwork is going to give you a hard time looking for the ones you do need.
