4. Proactively Communicate Wins
Make it as easy as possible for your managers to see exactly how hard you’re working. Of course, don’t rub it in anyone’s face, as nobody likes a show off around the office, but ensure that you’re seen and heard at all times.
The next time your boss asks you about your day or current project, keep them informed. Talk to them about your accomplishments, big or small. Let them know everything there is to know about the bigger picture but also the smaller goals you’ve reached along the way.
That’ll make it exceedingly easy for them to accept your request for a raise when you do go in for that meeting. Proactive communication will help your boss ‘see’ you at work before you even step through the door so that, at most, once you sit down for a chit-chat about a raise all they’ll need is a gentle reminder.
