2. Subtropical sunshine

Florida is called “The Sunshine State” for good reasons. Hear us out: there are 230 sunny days in this state per year. 230 days of sunshine out of 356? That is amazing, especially for seniors.

The weather in Florida is wonderful. The winters are easy, spring and fall are mild, and the summers are just beautiful with sun all day long. This is truly a subtropical haven!

Let’s talk about the northernmost city of Florida, Tallahassee. Do you know what the average temperature is during the winter? The answer is 60 during the day. In Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or the Keys, cities that are southern, the winter temperature is somewhere around 75.

So, if you want to spend quality time outdoors, the weather should not be a problem, no matter the season. Let’s say that you want to take a stroll along the beach or go out for a bike ride; you can do that in the winter in Florida. Isn’t this amazing?
