To get an idea of how much money you’ll get in 2023, take your Medicare premium, add in your net Social Security benefit, and multiply that by the 2023 COLA of 8.7%. “That will help you gauge what your raise will be,” explained Joe Elsasser, a certified financial planner.

According to Cristina Martin Firvida, the director of the Office of the Investor Advocate at the SEC, “This is really incredibly wonderful news for older Americans because their COLA is increasing, their Medicare premiums will decrease, and that means a lot more cash in everyone’s pocket every month.”
