Federally Qualified Health Centers and Community Clinics
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) receive federal funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. These community health centers must provide medical and dental care regardless of your ability to pay.
Every center uses a sliding-fee discount schedule based on federal poverty guidelines. If your annual household income falls below the poverty line, you pay nominal fees for services.
Those earning between 100% and 200% of federal poverty guidelines receive tiered discounts. A $1,200 crown or deep cleaning might cost you only a fraction of retail clinic rates.
Community health centers employ fully licensed dentists, hygienists, and oral surgeons. You can find your nearest clinic by searching the directory on Benefits.gov.
