St. Louis, Missouri

This state has a few big cities in it, which is part of the cause for it being the 6th most dangerous state in our country. Its population of approximately 6 million people saw 723 homicides last year and had a violent crime rate of 543 per 100,000 individuals.

This represents a 9.6% growth compared to the year before that. Of the major cities, Springfield, which is the third largest city in this state, ranks as the most dangerous. It comes in second in regard to the most violent and most property crimes.

But St Louis recorded nearly 6,000 violent crimes and has the highest murder rate in the state. With a population of roughly half a million, Kansas City is the largest city, and residents have a 1 in 69 chance of being subjected to violent crime.

However, property crime in Kansas City is lower than in any other city in this state.
