Have you ever heard of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators? They deal with unclaimed property- and there are a lot of people that aren’t even aware of money or things they can reclaim through the program. We’re talking about inheritances you might have not been aware of, the proceeds of an insurance policy, or even tax refunds.
Watch out, though, as there may be plenty of scammers that will take advantage of you. That’s because looking through the database is free, so they take advantage of this while claiming they can help you with the process of getting your hands back on what’s yours. You should do it yourself or ask a trusted family member at most, as it’s generally easy to do it.
You have to check for every state you’ve lived in and look for deceased relatives too. You never know what might pop up!
