Check out our list of the most popular gigs!

Are you a busybody? Do you like to stay active? If always being on the move is something you value, we’ve put together a list of the most popular gigs that could be perfect for you. You could get in a few hours of workout all while adding cash to your bank account, so what’s not to love?

Some of the items on our list could be a little out there, but we’re sure there’s something in here for everyone, from sports enthusiasts to those who would simply like to add a little more activity to their daily lives.

We’ve especially found that office workers often turn to these sorts of activities, as they’re so different from tapping away at a computer all day. Without further ado, here are our top ideas for people with energy to spare!

1. Popular Gig: Dog Walking

There’s virtually no better side gig for dog lovers. And it’s really not that hard to find work. Advertising on social media and posting flyers around the neighborhood could be more than enough to form a good client base.

WagWalking.com is also a good place to set up a profile to get connected with dog owners around you.

2. Popular Gig: Lose Weight

It’s really no joke. You can really earn money by losing weight. HealthyWage encourages weightloss by paying for your achievements, $500 or more.

First, you’ll need to invest some money, as this essentially works like a bet, and winning is in your hands. If you’re determined, there’s no reason this shouldn’t work.

If you put money upfront and reach your weight goal, HealthyWage will pay you back. Of course, there’s the possibility that you might lose, so be careful about your ambitions.

Use their calculator to see how much you stand to gain depending on how many pounds you want to shed.

3. Popular Gig: Tour Guide Service

If you live in a popular tourist destination, take advantage of peak times by giving tours. It requires you to know a little bit of history while sprinkling in some modern culture. Give ToursByLocals.com and Vayable.com a try, you won’t regret it.

4. Popular Gig: Personal Training

For those who know a thing or two about working out, losing weight or building up muscles, being a personal trainer could be like winning the lottery. You’re guaranteed to find people that need a little shove when it comes to their physique, especially after New Year’s!

We recommend taking advantage of social media. Show off a bit of your knowledge and skills and people will have an easier time approaching you!

5. Popular Gig: Being a TaskRabbit

We think everyone should have a TaskRabbit account. It’ll basically put you in contact with odd jobs in your area. Open the app, get dressed, slip into your shoes and see where it takes you.

You won’t only be doing tasks for people who just need a hand with a project, either. If a nearby company needs help, they could show up on your radar.

For example, you could end up assembling furniture for IKEA or helping someone run an errand. The possibilities are endless, so keep an open mind. TaskRabbit is also great because you could also do virtual-work from home too, so it’s got something for everyone!

6. Popular Gig: Sports Coaching

For this job, you need to have a soft spot for kids and be willing to impart sports knowledge. It can be a daunting task, but it’s also very rewarding.

Though, heads up, some people who have taken up coaching for school teams have pointed out that working with parents can be a little difficult at times. If you can stomach those kinds of challenges, we know you’ll do great!

7. Popular Gig: Pool Cleaning Service

Of course, you have to live in an area with a lot of pools, either indoors or outdoors. And trust us, outdoor pools can get very messy. It’s also not the kind of job you can take lightly.

Cleaning out pools is a serious business, as people can get sick if they’re not properly maintained. Take it from me, I’ll never forget getting an ear infection a few summers ago from a badly cleaned pool.

In the end, the money and extra workout will be well worth the effort!

8. Popular Gig: Human Billboard

A little embarrassing, we know, but totally worth the money. Fan of long walks? Just see if there are any positions available for Human Billboards near you, don the suit and go out there.

Sometimes businesses will want you to stand in a street corner, but others will encourage you to walk around a few neighboring blocks. Just get ready for a few confused looks, maybe a few pictures. But hey, does it really matter, as long as you’re getting paid?

9. Popular Gig: Flyer Distribution Service

Feel like walking around without wearing a billboard? Worry not, there’s the option of distributing flyers around instead. Who knew that just going for a walk could earn you a potential of $75 to $100 an hour?

We think it’s totally worth it, so turn on that FitBit and watch the numbers skyrocket.

10. Popular Gig: Teaching Yoga

If you’re an experienced yoga fan, earning some money on the side can be quite easy. You can set classes up in your own home if you have space. When spring and summer roll around, take the activity outdoors. Hint: this could also attract more people, as it’s basically free advertising.

11. Popular Gig: Residential or Commercial Cleaning Service

If you want to try it out, we guarantee you’ll be finding lost of clients to clean for. Virtually every business needs someone around the office to do the job, so all you have to do is put yourself out there.

So what if it’s not glamorous work? If you can keep up, you’ll be burning calories while earning money. Some people can even earn $1000 a month by doing this part-time, so why not?

12. Popular Gig: Yard Work Service

Yard work services are always in high demand. If you’ve got eyes for this type of maintenance you could earn a lot and build up a client base fairly quickly. Just think about it.

Just as every working or living space needs to be cleaned up every once in a while, so does a garden. It’s also a pretty laborious job but if you want to stay active without paying for a gym membership this could be your calling!

13. Popular Gig: Postmates and Instacart Delivery

You don’t need a car to earn up to $25 an hour with Postmates. In big, dense cities, riding or walking are equally helpful. Instacart Shoppers also get to stay active while they work, helping people out with deliveries.

The people we’ve talked to about doing this also mention that tipping is a big part of the business. At the end of the day you’ll have even more money in your pockets.

14. Popular Gig: Moving Service

This is for strong, determined people. If you’re comfortable with the idea of moving other peoples’ stuff, then moving services could be right up your alley.

It’s not always easy work and you’re gonna have to get used to carrying things back and forth a lot, but it’s like going for a work out that basically pays itself.

15. Popular Gig: Field Agent

Field Agent is yet another app on which you can find various tasks. If you have a few minutes to spare and if you’re ready to run out of the house for a bit, open it up and check the listings.

Even with $3-8 per assignment, it’s pretty handy, especially because the jobs are surprisingly easy.

16. Popular Gig: Picking up Trash

Ready to get your hands dirty? Here are three reasons why picking up trash is actually a sweet deal.

One, you could earn between $50,000 and $100,000 per year by cleaning up local parks or parking lots. Secondly, you’ll be walking around a lot, not to mention working on your core muscles. Lastly, you’ll be helping out the environment.

We’ve even seen people turn this into a business when they found out others in their communities were interested in helping out! Who knows, maybe this odd side gig could turn into a career choice if you’ve got a head for business.

If you could make a living by staying active, what would like you like to do? We’d love to hear from you in the comments down below!
