Arizona: Coolidge

Not a lot of people talk about Arizona, but if you are a fan of the hot weather but want to lead a quieter life, you can try to see how life is in this small town in the south-central part of the state. Located in the Sonoran Desert, this northern town has a population of around 14,700 people, and it is only about 60 miles away from Phoenix, so you know it is not going to be secluded or something of the sort as many people envision when they hear the town is located in a desert.

Despite what many think, there are retirees who enjoy desert living, be it for personal or health reasons. If you are considering making such a move too, you should expect hot summers, with July being able to reach about 106 degrees, and moderate winters, with colder temperatures but very rare snowfall. Coolidge boasts a low cost of living, being under both the state average and the national one!
