As the Social Security Administration has stated, an estimated 66 million Americans got their Social Security benefits every single month last year. As 20 percent of the country received their benefits, these checks are no less than a lifeline for most citizens.

Even so, Social Security checks aren’t always delivered on time. If that’s the case for you, then you need to know that your Social Security benefits could be late due to a couple of circumstances. Oftentimes, these delays won’t even last more than a couple of days.

Given that so many people still rely on their Social Security, you should know how long these delays could last and when would be the right time to follow up and see what needs to be done.
