Enroll In A Class

If you wish to make new friends, do a quick search in your local newspaper or check online for classes you might be interested in. Nowadays, there are interest groups for just about everything.

Are you a big history fan? Go to the monthly lectures at the community college in your area. What about painting? We’re almost certain that there are weekly meetings of a local group. Amazon has a fantastic paint set to get you started.

And this goes for just about every interest or skill you might have. Of course, there’s always the chance that you show up to a group and realize that it’s not for you. Maybe all the people at those history lectures are from a different age group and have little in common with you.

The bottom line is that you won’t know until you try! Grab a notebook and write down a few interests that you’ve wanted to explore or skills you’ve always wanted to learn, then give yourself a period of a couple of months where you try them through groups or classes.

At the end of that period of time, you’ll know which ones are the right fit for you and which ones don’t quite click. But one thing is for certain. You will definitely make new friends along the way.
