Utah
Next up on our list is Utah! Being the fourth safest state in the country and also the first western state when it comes to a wider top ten list. The population of the state is bigger than Hawaii’s, with around 3.2 million people, yet if we keep the comparison, they rank at number 11 when it comes to the income of the people, with the median income reaching only around $60,000 for each household.
It is still not something to turn a blind eye to, as the state is very safe, with only 2.4 out of 1,000 people having a crime rate, which puts them under the national average, which is sitting at 4.249 per 1,000 people! And out of all these crimes that make up the crime rate in this state, violent crimes do not make up the biggest average, as the most common type of crime is related to property rather than human attacks.
When it comes to natural disasters, the risk here is moderate (there is no place with a total zero chance of natural disasters), with the most common being wildfires and floods, alongside the occasional landslide. However, even these are rare, and the state boasts of having the lowest number of human life lost due to climate disasters in the country.
If you are looking for a state where you will be able to feel safe while also being able to enjoy all the seasons, Utah may just be the right choice for you!
