If you truly do not mind cold temperatures, then Minnesota should definitely be on your list of potential states to which you could relocate, with a special place for the city of Rochester. After all, the average temperature when it comes to the low ones in January is 5°F, and even during the summer months, you will not see an average that will go much over 81°F in July! So there is no heat to detect whatsoever, especially not to the extent that you can get in the south of America.
One thing that could potentially put you off is the tax situation, as the state of Minnesota is not considered tax-friendly with its retiree population. However, this doesn’t stop the state from having about 15% of its population being over 65 years old, and the cost of living falls within the national average, so it will not affect you that much. If you’ve been living in a state that is very tax-friendly, you may notice the difference, but otherwise, you should not worry.
Otherwise, the median home prices are good in Rochester (under the state average of around $250,000), and you will have nothing to worry about when it comes to healthcare providers. The famous Mayo Clinic is present here as well!
