1. Medicare will cover all of your medical expenses

This is definitely not true, so don’t expect Medicare to cover everything medical-related. This is one of the most common Medicare myths. If you still don’t know it, Medicare, the Original Medicare, Parts A and B, is not really free. It is true that it covers some of your costs, but not all. That means you should be ready to take some money out of your pocket the next time you go to the doctor.

The cost of the premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments falls on you. And don’t be surprised that many people find that Original Medicare is insufficient on its own. If we look at the Original Medicare Form 2021, we can notice that it covered $1,484 for hospital stays per benefit period, and after the annual deductible ($203), it offered you 20% of the total cost of a medical visit.

More than that, you should know that for hearing and eye exams, there is no coverage; Part D prescription drugs are also not covered; there is no limit to the amount of money that you can pay in a year; and last but not least, there is no coverage for emergency care outside the United States.
