CON: You will have to sacrifice free time!

While working as a retiree will give you something to look forward to and alleviate boredom, it can also have the opposite effect if you are not careful when it comes to your schedule. You can end up wasting time that you could be using in other ways. Working in retirement has a lot of pros, which also include making more money than you would have had by only relying on retirement accounts, benefits, and the like. However, it can also end up being a detriment when it comes to utilizing the time you have in other ways.

If you have grandkids, working can cut down on the time you could be spending with them and even ruin some vacation plans with your family. It could also keep making your schedule harder to manage, and all of that means sacrificing the time you have. In retirement, a lot of us are looking forward to having more flexibility when it comes to our time, so it would be great if we could make that a reality instead of dealing with jobs that take away precious daytime hours.
