6. Comics

Have you ever been a comic book fan? Well, my husband was one and he made a lot of money out of his childhood passion. You probably know that, but there was a massive comics industry crash sometime in the 1990s when people started buying tons and tons of comics because they were collectible.

Of course, publishers saw the huge opportunity that was lying at their feet, so they began springing them up everywhere, flooding the market with comics marketed as “Collector’s Editions” and “Issue #1s.”

Unfortunately, due to this crash, a lot of comics from the ’80s and ’90s aren’t that important for collectors, but some of them are, so don’t lose hope just yet.

For instance, if you’re one of the happy and lucky people who managed to put their hands on Deadpool‘s first appearance in New Mutants #98, you can make a profit out of it. One person listed it on eBay and made no less than $800 for a copy, so it’s worth trying.

You can also make some money even if you don’t have the grade everybody wants. One comic book was sold for roughly $250, so yeah, definitely a good one to keep in mind.
