Affordable U.S. Cities: Joplin (cont.)

The city rebuilt after its 2011 tragedy, and owning a home in the area is not that hard since their average home prices fall somewhere around $149,000, which is great considering you are going to be the owner of your home. Another perk is that the state income taxes have been lowered from one year to another (for 2023, they are at 4.95% when compared to the 2022 tax year, which has an income tax rate of 5.3%).

The cost of living in Joplin is 18% below the national average, so this is what definitely puts this Missouri town between our most affordable U.S. cities!
