Texas

Texas has not one, not two but three tax holidays lined up for its residents! Between May 29th and May 31st, 2021, you’ve got the energy star sales tax holiday during which you can purchase goods such as air conditioners (with a sales price of $6,000 or less), refrigerators (with a sales price of $2,000 or less), ceiling fans and others. Stoves, dryers, freezers, and a few other items are not eligible.

In terms of school supplies, you can expect the same sort of deals. Clothes, footwear, and supplies are mostly eligible with a few exceptions as long as they fall within a certain price range, usually $100.

Finally, there’s the emergency preparation supplies sales tax holiday which takes place between April 24th and April 26th, 2021. You won’t need to pay sales taxes on generators under $3,000, hurricane shutters and emergency ladders under $300 and a whole host of other items under $75 such as hatchets, first aid kits, smoke detectors, tarps, etc.

The Texas Comptroller has all the information you may need, so check their website out.
