Finally, there’s Virginia which hosts its holiday between August 7th and August 9th, similar to other states. However, despite the short duration, you can purchase more than just school supplies.

During this period you can shop for emergency preparation items and Energy Star items, as long as they are eligible and under a certain price. For example, Energy Star and WaterSense products have to cost under $2,500.

Generators in case of emergencies have to cost under $1,000, and other such supplies can’t go about $60.

The Virginia Department of Taxation website has more information, just make sure you prepare ahead of time if you want to take advantage of all categories of items since you’ll only have three days to do so!
