A clenched fist slams the desk, splashing coffee while startled coworkers cower in fear from a sudden workplace outburst.

Your Boss Throws Tantrums Easily

Truth be told, the best managers are boring! We’ve already outlined that your boss shouldn’t make weird comments and shouldn’t gossip, right? The best scenario you can ask for is someone who is committed to their work while also being down to work.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is the type of boss that throws temper tantrums. If these are constant you shouldn’t have to put up with this type of abuse, so work on getting out of that environment quickly.
But if they happen sporadically, a good idea is to consider the CALM acronym. Communicate frequently in an environment that your boss prefers. Anticipate what problems might arise and come up with solutions early on. Laugh and show positivity in order to help your manager think rationally.
Manage up by setting limits. This last point might be the most difficult, but it’s important for your boss to know that they are crossing the line. Do this by coming up with suggestions instead of telling them to handle themselves better.
