A confused man stares at a whiteboard of tangled arrows and scribbles, struggling to make sense of incoherent feedback.

Their Feedback Is More Confusing Than Relevant

We can think of two reasons as to why their feedback isn’t relevant. Either your boss isn’t well equipped for their jobs or they think they might gain some advantage by withholding information. Either, walking out of a vague meeting that has made you feel more puzzled than when you walked in is not a good sign.
Sadly, this might be the sign of a stagnant career path. In this case, you have three choices The first one is obviously communication. Return to your boss and ask them to clarify.
If this doesn’t help then consider if you can still advance in your career with the connections you’ve made around the office. Are there any other senior members that would like to see you grow? If not then the final option is to start considering a new job. Don’t stick with a company that isn’t interested in watching you evolve, if you can help it.
