Controlling bosses have a nasty little habit of calling their employees in their days off. Either they’re power-hungry or have separation anxiety, but no matter the case they should understand that you need a break and that you have a home life separate from work..
While preparing for your days off outline how your responsibilities will be handled by other members of the team or, if they’re not urgent, explain to them that you’ll be picking them up as soon as you return. It’s imperative that you set boundaries early, otherwise, your boss will become more and more comfortable with calling you when they’re not supposed to.
If your boss is worried about missing work, try to tackle a few things ahead of time and give them ample warning.
